Paignton South Devon

Paignton Seafront backing onto the long sandy shallow sloping beach , particularly popular with families. The Green. With the Pier reaching out into Torbay with its amusements and attractions. In season there is often a fun fair on the Green, whilst at night the Seafront is illuminated and takes on a whole new life. The Festival Theatre has been recently transformed into a multiplex cinema.

Goodrington Sands with its park and boating lake. Ride the Go-Karts or have fun in the water with the Bumper Boats. Seashore and Interpretation Centre not forgetting the Quaywest Waterpark- half a mile of water slides twist, turn and splash in the open-air -as they say Britains .Britain's Biggest, Wildest, Wettest ... .

The Harbour at the Southern end of the Sands. So quaint and worth a visit. Take a fishing trip , have diving lessons , or catch the foot ferry over to Torquay or cruise along the South Devon Coast to Brixham with its many fishing boats and Dartmouth with its narrow streets and half timbered houses . . Sit and watch the yachts and fishing boats go by in this peaceful spot. Sample some delicous seafood.

Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway from Paignton is the holiday line with steam trains running for seven miles in Great Western tradition along the spectactular Torbay coast to Churston and through the wooded slopes bordering the Dart estuary to Kingswear. On the far side of the River Dart the town of Dartmouth

Paignton Zoo Environmental Park all the animals live in their own habitat zones- state of the art enclosure designed with them frimly in mind. The Zoo is now divided up into six zones, 'Primley' , savannah , forest , wetland , tropical forest and desert .
